Plans to illuminate the whole island by the end of 2012 CEB to become a 100% Quality service institution.

Although the Ceylon Electricity Board which was a Rs. 04 billion annual operations profit making institution in 1994, was estimated to record a Rs. 40 billion loss in 2010, it was minimised at least to a certain extent. Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka told employees of the CEB that instead of dwelling in the mistakes of the past they should take on the responsibility of making the CEB an institution that is a pride of the Nation.
