“We should remember that 11 million people are keeping eyes on us”.
Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma, says starting duties of the new year.
Minister of Power, Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma emphasizes that effectiveness could be achieved only by facing challenges successfully. He said that “Today the entire nation is keeping their eyes on us. Power is no more a consumer service only. We should remember that attention of 22 million of population is on us and it is just enough for us to accomplish our responsibilities in the right way. Although it is slow, we ever move forward and never get backward”. The Minister invited everyone to accomplish our duties and responsibilities on behalf of the country, nation and the entire universe as a troop of honest soldiers who march forward.
The Minister expressed these ideas at the occasion of staring duties of the Ministry of Power today (01st) for the new year of 2021.
Hon. Minister expressed that this year has been followed by a year of miseries and unfortunate happenings and this year came with number of challenges. The Minister requested fullest corporation of the staff of the Ministry to illuminate the whole island with electricity. He emphasized that the Ministry has the strength to successfully face the challenges of the power sector being the forerunner of the power sector. The Minister further said that it is the responsibility of the Ministry to discharge duties and responsibilities for the country with self conscience as one family and the Minister is fond of taking over the paternity of the family of power affectionately. The Minister is in the firm idea of bestowing a society free of fossil fuel to our future generation.
Senior officers of the Ministry including Mrs. Wasantha Perera – Secretary to the Ministry of Power, State Ministry of Solar, Mr. Hemantha Samarakoon – Wind and Hydro Power Generation Projects Development and the staff of the Ministry participated this event.
