The seven member committee and the electrical engineers appointed to inquire the power failure are before the Minister…..

A seven member committee led by Prof. Rahula Athalage has been appointed to investigate the island wide power outage occurred around 08 hours after 12.30 p.m. yesterday (17) due the power failure of a power transmission grid substation at Kerawalapitiya and to identify action to be taken to minimize experiencing such situations again and this committee report is to be submitted to the Minister in charge of the subject again.

This committee met on 18^th at the Ministry for the first time and gave explanations in this regard the Minister in charge of the subject Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma in the evening. A group of engineers representing the CEB also took part at this event to give explanations and some senior officers of the Ministry including Mr. Wasantha Perera, Secretary to the Ministry also participated n this meeting.
