(Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma, emphasizes assuming duties in the portfolio of  Minister of  Power).

Hon. Dullas  Alahapperuma, Minister of Power of the new government assumed duties in his office on 13.08.2020 morning

(today).

In the official  event held at the Ministry of Power,  the Minister said that the ultimate objective of the President is to make Sri Lanka a prosperous country turning a new chapter in the annals of the  politics of Sri Lanka and everyone must be committed to achieve this paramount objective. Further, he said that the President trusts that this Ministry has been assigned with a vital role in the process of developing the country and the people have voted him having faith on him. The Minister expressed that he has been assigned the portfolio of the Minister of an important Ministry by the President with    the same faith and he is committed to secure the faith of the President and the Prime Minister on him.  Hon. Minister further stressed that he will lead this team from the date of assuming duties and he strongly believe    the support of everyone in the team.

After assuming duties officially in his office, the Minister Dullas Alahapperuma had an official discussion with the Senior Officers of the Ministry on the future progress of the power sector and welfare of electricity consumers.
