  • Necessary knowledge to modernize power sector of Sri Lanka

Ravi Karunanayaka, the Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development attended in a special session on energy management which includes theatrical and practical features with a view of knowing the strategies which may move the power sector of Sri Lanka on renewable energy sources in future and modern technologies on such strategies.

Energy management in houses and commercial buildings, the way how the automatic system is operated through digital technology strategies and software used for that purpose were discussed in detail during this session. An explanation was given on strategies which help to find out efficient solutions where it can be connected through middle volt and automatic system.

The Minister said that through the participation in this practical workshop held on activities carried out in Smart Meter Laboratories established in Singapore, it was able to obtain knowledge and skills required to modernize the power sector of Sri Lanka, serving energy, and the avenues which can minimize the power generation by using high cost energy sources.

Ravi Karunanayaka, Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development said that with his visit to Singapore, it was able to obtain technology to implement various new technological components in the power sector of Sri Lanka, and the knowledge required to put the strategies currently used in power sector into modernization.
