During a meeting with Minister of Power and Energy, Attorney at Law Pavitra Wanniarachchi, Russian Ambassador Alexander Karchava said Rassia was
prepared to widen the investment opportunities in Sri Lanka. He pointed out that bi-lateral relations between the two countries had been strengthened
more than ever today. 

Minister Wanniarachchi pointed out that stretching of bi-lateral relations between Russia and Sri Lanka was due to the foreign police of the visionary
leadership of President Mahinda Rajapakse. 

She said restoration of peace after years of military conflicts resulted in Sri Lanka’s present development .The minister appreciated Russia’s solidarity to
Sri Lanka. On going construction works of the proposed building for the Russian Embassy at Bauddhaloka Mawatha in Colombo were among other
matters discussed. 

Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy Ranjith Gunawardene and several senior officials attended the meeting.
