“Vidulka” Exhibition commences Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for the Energy Efficiency Award winners

The “Vidulka” Energy Exhibition and Symposium and the Energy Efficiency Awards ceremony, organized by the Ministry Of Power and Energy and the Renewable Energy Authority was held last afternoon (11.08.2011) at the BMICH with the patronage of Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne.

This exhibition organized annually by the Renewable Energy Authority, showcases the novel inventions in the power and energy consumers, provides them with the technical expertise, educate the public on the methods of power conservation, and the development of renewable energy sources,  while rewarding them with energy efficiency awards as a means of encouragement, by the Prime Minister.

The Gold award was won by Kandalama Heritance and Seychelles Hotel Pvt. Ltd. In the Hotels category, While Sri Lankan Catering won it in the construction sector. The winners of the Silver Medal was Brandix company in Ratmalana from the production sector, The Tea Factory Hotel from the Hotel Sector  and Hatton National Bank and Nikini Automation Systems (Pvt) Ltd. From the Business construction sector. The Bronze Medal was won by Phoenix Company from the Production sector, and Ahungalla Heritance from the Hospitality sector. In addition the energy efficiency skills award was presented to the  Ekala Load Star (Pvt) Company  in the Large scale production category,  Jetwing Company in the Hospitality sector, and the Sri Jayawardanepura  District Secretariat office.

The Ministry of Power and Energy stated that the “Vidulka” Exhibition which commenced yesterday will be held until the 14th of this month.
