Concurrent to the “Vidulka” Energy exhibition today’s (11-08-11) seminar was based on Renewable Energy Management. The specialty in today’s activities is that the entire exhibition as well as the organizational performance is centered around school children.
An Essay Competition and Art Competition was organized on the theme of the Future of Power and Energy, The Future without Fossil Fuel, and Renewable Energy Sources.
The primary task for today was the launch of the book titled “Illuminating the Future” by the Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champoika Ranawaka with the participation of school children. Furthermore Power and Energy circles were also inaugurated centered around school children.
Concurrent to the exhibition an awards ceremony for the winners of the competitions was also staged with the patronage of the Minister of Power and Energy.
Among the distinguished gathering attending this exhibition and symposium were the Western Province MP Udaya Gamanpilla, Power and Energy Advisor Dr. K.K.Y.W Perera, Chairman of the Renewable Energy Authority Dr. Kithsiri Dissanayake, Director General Dr. Thusitha Sugathapala and Director of Education of the Western Province together with many officials of the Ministry of Education and the Renewable Energy Authority .
