Three teams have set out to investigate Sunday’s fire at Norochcholai Power plant and any damages by the fire would be absorbed by the China National Machinery Equipment Export and Import Corporation, Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said today at a media briefing.

While assuring that the damage caused to the plant would not affect the construction work Minister Ranawaka said he expected the first phase of the project to be commissioned in January next year adding 300 MWs to the national grid as planned.
