US ambassador in Colombo Patricia A. Butenis called on Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka this noon and discussed a slew of issues including Sri Lanka’s potential for renewable energy, nuclear power and emergence as an energy hub in Asia.

The minister had explained as to why he had suspended some of the US sponsored power facilities initiated during previous regimes but ensured that he would not move to breach the power agreements reached with the US government so far.
