Golden tokens for long serving LECO employees

Employees serving for over 25 years at Lanka Electric Company (LECO) were rewarded recently for their committed and long service at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo under the patronage of the Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranwaaka.

Around 63 employees who had served the company for over 25 years received golden tokens of appreciation by the minister. Concurrent to the long service award ceremony,  a special ceremony was also held in recognition of the educational achievements of the children of LECO employees. Accordingly students who obtained over 144 marks at the 2009 year 5 scholarship examination and over 148 marks at the 2010 year 5 examinations were awarded Sisu Udana savings accounts worth Rs. 10,000 by the minister.

Furthermore students who excelled at the 2008, 2009, and 2010 GCE O/L examinations also received savings accounts from the National Savings Bank worth Rs. 25,000. The students who also received three A’s at the 2008 and 1010 A level examinations received savings accounts worth Rs. 50,000 as well as other gifts.

The secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy M.M.C Fernando together with  a large gathering of LECO and power and energy ministry employees also participated in this award ceremony.
