The Power and Energy Ministry today introduced a star rating system and Energy Conservation Label for electrical equipments including fluorescent bulbs, refrigerators, air-conditioners and fans in a bit to save a minimum Rs. 10 billion a year for the country.
Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka told media electrical equipments will be sold with star ratings and energy conservation labels based on their energy serving and eco friendly capacity under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA).
